Post & Pages - Adding Media Tutorial

August 5th, 2008 by ipoker

Adding media to your Posts and Pages has never been so easy. With the new wordpress you just have to press a button and the system will load an applet to upload new media.

Note: If you have no idea how to make a new Post/Page start reading this tutorial

When you are making your new Post/Page you will notice an “Add media” text left of the Visual/HTML tabs. I pressed the Add media link to upload and insert the image example below:

When you press this button the Media Manager will load.

Then you just need to choose a file from your PC to upload to your TiltBlog or specify an URL to load the image. Sometimes images are hosted in others reliable image banks and this secondary option is very useful when that happends.

Once you uploaded the image, the system will ask you what to do with it. Since you might be just uploading and not wanting to insert the image at the post. (normally this doesn’t happend unless you are adding media from the Media Library)

How to Choose a new blog theme?

August 5th, 2008 by ipoker

At this article you will have a brief intro of how do you change your blog theme (also called template)

The default theme is just not enough for most of the Bloggers. They want an smooth theme like the one I choosen for this blog. That’s why you can choose from the exhaustive themes list.

In order to change how your blog looks you need to login to your blog and press the Design Tab as soon as you load the dashboard. The theme I choosen for this blog is named Citrus Island, it’s a one click procedure.

I’ve took an snapshot of the themes section, you just need to choose your favourite using the thumbnails and then click over it. The blog theme will be loaded, refresh your blog (using f5) and you will certanly be able to see the changes, trust me!

As you can see at the snapshot, there’s a Themes and a Widget sub menu inside the Design Section. Leave alone the widgets until you actually get it and focus on choosing your new theme.

Btw, widgets represent what is shown at your sidebars. Think that your template could even don’t have sidebars.

Note: To have a better view of your template, you should have at least 1 Post and at least 1 Page. If you have no clue how to make your first post or page, check out our brief tutorials.

Making your first Page

August 5th, 2008 by ipoker

This tutorial will cover a brief review to guide the user that doesn’t know how to make a new Page using TiltBlog.

Remember that in order to be able to make a Page or a Post in your blog first you need to register a new account at TiltBlog.com, second you will need to choose a Blog Title and subdomain.

This blog’s subdomain is help and it’s url is http://help.tiltblog.com.

At Glance when you enter wordpress dashboard you can see two buttons. They read ‘Write a New Page’ and ‘Write a New Post’. You need to press the one that reads ‘Write a New Page

Note: Posting a new Page is practically the same as posting a new post. The big difference between a Post and a Page is that the Post appear at your “news” section and also have tags and categories. A Page doesn’t have tags nor categories and it will appear as a button accesible from everywhere inside your blog.

This is how a page looks when the job it’s over:

(The image was took from PokerInside news blog)

If you have any other questions related to the MCE please check the image at the “Making your first Post” tutorial article. If your question isn’t solved anyway just email us or post a comment asking for help here.
